Celebrating Success

Celebrating Success

At Eton Dorney Independent Therapeutic School, we feel it is important to celebrate success because it develops each child’s self-esteem and increases their confidence.  We also celebrate the staff’s achievements with the children, to show them that we are all still learning.

Every week we hold a celebration assembly where all types of successes are shared, for both children and staff members.  Certificates achieved that week for demonstrating one of four core values of “Nurturing, Self-Belief, Kindness and Compassion or other external achievements are handed out.  Assemblies also allows us to celebrate subject specific successes such as “Reader of the Week”, “Mathematician of the week”, sitting qualifications or achieving certificates in specific intervention held lessons.

Our positive behaviour system: E-Praise and our “ROPESS” system ensures that pupils are rewarded for their efforts and successes both inside and outside of the classroom. Pupils are given certificates for achieving milestones on E-praise and this is shared in assemblies and in form times. All members of staff across the school have access to E-praise and can reward pupils.

No matter how small the achievement, the recognition of it is enormous.

We celebrate success by:

  • Parental/Carer Phone Calls
  • Parental/Carer Emails
  • End of week assemblies
  • E-Praise
  • Value Certificates
  • SLT Celebration Letters
