Cultural Capital
Curriculum Plus
Our wider curriculum provides opportunities for pupils to learn about and name things that are, for many, outside their daily experience.
Our young people are offered the opportunity to explore interests that they may not know they have. Throughout our academic year, we offer a timetable of enrichment that our pupils can try and explore. Our aim is for our pupils to develop the ability to look after themselves, others, their environment, and a love for life.
In addition, a range of experiences are provided during the schooling day to bring a rich and diverse curriculum to our pupils. Our activities have a range of purposes, including practical skills such as budgeting, shopping, food preparation, a variety of sports, exploring new leisure options, and clubs of interest. We want young people to feel comfortable and be able to interact with activities and become tolerant, resilient, and confident in preparation for life after Eton Dorney.
Curriculum Enrichment & Educational Visits
Our curriculum is interwoven with useful real-life experiences and trips which bring learning to life and makes learning relevant and applicable to real world contexts for pupils.
Enrichment includes community links and educational visits specific to the half-termly topics in different subject areas, horse riding, theatre visits, cinema visits, internal and external careers workshops, college visits, community visits, volunteering opportunities, and many more.
Exceed Centre
Exceed is a 3 acres space where our pupils engage in curriculum enrichment activities through farming, indoor activities such as arts and crafts, woodwork, and cookery as well as adventurous outdoor woodland and outbound team-work activities.
Lunch Time Leisure Activities
Our pupils have the opportunity to engage in friendly football, Rugby, Girl's group, documentary time, reading buddies time, or other areas of interest before or after lunch. During these times, pupils try new activities, find out more about their interests, and develop in knowledge, skills and confidence.
