Special Educational Needs
Eton Dorney Independent Therapeutic School is an inclusive school; we believe that every child should be given the tools they need to succeed. The quality of children's teaching has the greatest impact on learning, but some children may require further support that is additional to or different from others in order to learn best.
We use the EHCP to support the child and guide the school in planning for individualised learning packages and outcomes as per agreed with parents/carers and other professionals.
We believe that, for these children, a holistic approach is essential. This team includes the child, the parents/ carers, school staff and other professionals. Eton Dorney School looks forward to working with pupils and parents/carers to ensure they have full inclusive access to our curriculum.
Our SEND Coordinator is Heidi Waegner and she can be contacted via email Heidi.waegner@csfc.co.uk
Provision for students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL)
We are committed to providing equal opportunities to all our students and accordingly, we ensure that students are not disadvantaged by language differences. Where necessary, further advice from the student’s Local Authority will be sought and specific support provided so any student with English as an additional language will have the same access and opportunities as students for whom English is the primary language.
